STEP #6 | Do you have a garden? Often, growing your own food is THE MOST environmentally friendly alternative. Small or large, any garden is both an economic and environmental win. Don’t have a green thumb? There are tons of resources – articles, vides, tutorials for starting your own garden as well as what is best for your location.
STEP #7 | Is about energy efficient buildings. Did you know that 40% of all energy used in the US goes to power, heat, and cool our buildings? You CAN change this. An energy audit of your home or office could show you ways to save energy and save money.
STEP #8 | This tip is about energy efficiency where we work. Challenge your office to reduce energy usage by 15%. An energy audit can help you determine the best ways to do that. Every little bit helps!
STEP #9 | Call your energy provider and ask about solar options, storing energy, and renewable energy. Yes, likely they are already thinking of these things, but we can use our voice to make our needs known.
STEP #10 | Share what you know with your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors. Passing on what you know can help someone else make an impact, too.
STEP #11 | This week’s tip is simple and it is not done enough. Reach out to your state, local and federal representatives and ask them to support legislation that protects our environment.
