Heart of a Building is about creating a better future.
We make videos that tell the stories of innovators who are designing, financing, constructing, and occupying the buildings of tomorrow, today!
Our stories showcase the state-of-the-art technical expertise behind energy-efficient buildings that are outperforming existing codes. We explore the heart-centered reasons — the “why” — behind each project.
Our videos feature buildings that transform the places we inhabit into the spaces that can exist in harmony with nature! Our debut 1-hour video aired on Rocky Mountain PBS on April 24th 2021 followed by 30-minute long episodes that aired in November 2021 and now our latest episode, that was produced in 2022, that aired on Earth Day, April 22nd, 2023. You can stream any of these episodes at Heart of a Building on RMPBS.
WHY WE CARE | Increasing energy efficiency and enhancing building performance is key to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the unsustainable use of resources. The building sector in the U.S. accounts for over one-third of our greenhouse gas emissions, more than 70% of our electricity consumption. It uses more than 40% of our total energy utilization. We already have the expertise to construct and power buildings using renewable energy sources while improving indoor air quality and comfort. We just have to inspire greater adoption and implementation!
Our PBS episodes, technical videos, and continuing education for professionals seek to do just that…inspire us all to want these amazing buildings to become the norm – in retrofitting and remodeling existing buildings as well as in new construction!
