Heart of a Building is about creating a better future.
We make videos that tell the stories of innovators who are designing, financing, constructing, and occupying the buildings of tomorrow, today!
Our stories showcase the state-of-the-art technical expertise behind energy-efficient buildings that are out-performing existing codes. We explore the heart-centered reasons — the “why” — behind each project.
Our videos feature buildings that transform the places we inhabit into spaces that can exist in harmony with nature! Our debut video aired on Rocky Mtn PBS on April 24 and aired again on April 25, and you can stream it here at RMPBS – Heart of a Building.
WHY WE CARE | Increasing energy efficiency and enhancing building performance is key to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the unsustainable use of resources. The building sector in the U.S. accounts for over one-third of our greenhouse gas emissions, more than 70% of our electricity consumption. It uses more than 40% of our total energy utilization. We already have the expertise to construct and power buildings using renewable energy sources while improving indoor air quality and comfort. We just have to inspire greater adoption and implementation!
Our PBS episodes, technical videos, and continuing education for professionals seek to do just that…inspire us all to want these amazing buildings to become the norm – in retrofitting and remodeling existing buildings as well as in new construction!
YOU CAN HELP US PRODUCE MORE EPISODES!
Your support of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, or even $999 per video episode (or in total) will help us get these episodes produced!
We must reach our fundraising goals by June 14, 2021, to have these episodes produced and airing yet in 2021 so, make your pledge of support today!!!
If we are not able to reach our fundraising goal by June 14th, these funds will be applied to next season’s (2022) episodes. If we are unable to reach our fundraising goals for these episodes by June 14th, 2022, your donations will be returned to you unless otherwise negotiated with you.
Here are two examples of episodes we want to produce next:
We have already raised $13,250 to showcase the outstanding net-zero energy L’Avenir Project. We need to raise another $11,375 to create this episode.
We have also already raised $5,000 to showcase the community-inspired near-Passive House Nantes Library project. We need to raise another $19,625 to create this episode.
